intersection Improvements
Sealed Bids will be received by the City of Camas of the Finance
Department, 616 NE 4,h Avenue, Camas, Washington, until 4:00
p.m. Tuesday. February 22,2005 and will then and there be publicly
read for the construction of the improvements. All bid proposals
deposit in cash, certified check, or surety bond in an amount equal
to five percent (5%) of the am ount of such bid proposal. Should
the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish
satisfactory perform ance bond within the tim e stated in the
specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the
City of Camas.
Informational copies of maps. Plans, and specifications are on
file for Inspection in the Public W orks Engineering Department,
Camas, Washington. A copy of the Plans and Specifications may
be purchased for twenty-five dollars plus tax ($25.00+tax) in the
Public Works Department, Camas, W ashington. The Plans and
Specifications will be available on Tuesday, February 1,2005 after
9:00 A.M.
The Improvement for which bids will be received follows:
Bid opening will be on Tuesday, February 2 2 ,2 0 0 5 at 4 :0 0 P. M.
The contract consists of widening the road on the southeast
corner of NE 3'° Avenue (aka E Street) and NE Lechner Street
for approximately 525 feet and traffic signal modifications. This
work includes construction of new roadway section, sidewalk
ramps and sidewalks, relocation of two hydrants, modification
of existing drywell structure, installation of storm inlet, removal
of existing landscaping and irrigation system, modification to
existing signals and illumination at the intersection, including
removal and Installation of signal and luminaire poles, and any
other related items. All work shall be preformed in accordance
with the attached contract plans, these contract provisions, and
the standard specifications.
The City of Cam as in accordance with Title VI of the civil Rights Act
of 1964, 78 Stat. 2 52,42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49,
Code of Federal Regulations, D epartm ent of Transportation,
subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination in
federally assisted programs of the Department of Transportation
issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will
affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to
this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be
afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation
and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color
or national origin in consideration for an award.
The City of Cam as reserves the right to reject any or all proposals
if found to be higher than the estimated cost and to waive any
form ality or technicality in any proposal in the interest of the City.
