Pray for Iraq Peace Worship fo r King
Interfaith service Sunday at Augustana
Jewish. Muslim and Christian
faith leaders will join together for
an "Interfaith Service of Prayer
for Peace in Iraq: A Service of
Lamentation and Hope" on Sun­
day. Jan. 9 at 4 p.rn. at Augustana
Lutheran Church, 2710 N.E. I()th
Ave. The service isopen to people
of all faiths.
The prayer service will in­
clude songs, prayers and re­
flections from many faiths on
the w ar in Iraq. The event fea­
tures E ncore C hoir and litu rg i­
cal dancers. There will also be a
reading of names of the victim s of
the war. which will include so l­
diers from all countries, Iraqi chil­
dren and adults, and aid w orkers
who have died. A candle will be lit
to honor these lives. T he service
will end with acan d le procession
out into the street.

lom: Imam Shahriar Ahmed, Bilal
M osque; Bonnie Parr-Philpson,
Metro District Superintendent of
