The public hearing will open on Thursday, September 23,2004, at
the District Board meeting. The meeting is at 6:30 pm in the Senator
Hearing Room, I * floor of Courthouse Square, 555 Court St. NE, In Salem,
OR 97304. S ta ff w ill present an overview o f th e several fare
proposals, and com m ent from Cherriot riders and th e public is
welcom e and encouraged.
The hearing will continue to the Thursday, October 28 Board meeting,
also at 6:30 pm in the Senator Hearing Room, 1** floor of Courthouse
Square, 555 Court St. NE, In Salem. The board will take further public
testim ony a t the hearing, and then work toward a decision on fare
policies and changes, if any, should be m ade to the current fares.
If fares changes and new policies are approved, they would be
im plem ented no earlier than January 2 0 0 5 .
The public is invited to provide input a t eith e r or both hearing
dates. W ritten com m ents may be sent to Salem-Keizer Transit,
suite 5 2 3 0 , a t th e above address, or em ailed to th e D istrict

NOTICE is hereby given th a t the PORT OF KALAMA will be receiving
SEALED BIDS fo r the construction o f a pre-engineered building
system a t the Port o f Kalam a. Bids will be opened a t th e Port
o ffice located a t 3 8 0 W. M arine Drive, Kalama, WA 9 8 6 2 5 at

The project will include, am ong other things, site work and the
erection o f a 3 0 ,0 0 0 square fo o t pre-purchased, pre-engineered
m ental building with 1,5 0 0 square feet o f office building attached.
The General Contractor is to furnish all labor, m aterials, and
e q u ip m e n t necessary fo r th e co n stru ctio n o f th e p ro je ct as
