D a n c e p e r f o rm a n c e s are
sashaying, stom ping, sw inging and
sauntering into the O regon Z oo to
entertain the anaconda and invigo­
rate the elephants. W hite Bird, a top
dance troupe, brings energy and
excitem ent to the O regon Z oo as
part o f the W hite Bird at the Zoo
Family Dance Series. T he perfor­
m ances are part o f the ZS“1 anni ver­
sary o f the W ells Fargo Sum m er
Concert Series at the zoo.
“ Dance has alw ays been popu­
lar in Portland but hasn’t norm ally
reached families," said Krista Swan,
event coordinator. “At the zoo, we
have the perfect venue for enter­
taining fam ilies, w ho are sure to
enjoy the energy and excitem ent o f
W hite B ird’s dance groups.”
On W ednesday, Aug. 25, Do
Jump! will bring their fusion o flive
music, acrobatics, aerial dance, com ­
edy, th eatre and co n tem p o rary
m ovem ent using everyday objects
as props, such as ropes, ladders
and pieces o f furniture. Tickets for
this perform ance are $9 and are
available at 4 p.m. on the day o f the
show .
Penguins are among the creatures depicted in Imago Theatre’s
world-famous Frogz performance, at the Oregon Zoo on Aug. 28.
The Hand Truck Trio is one of the amazing vignettes adding energy
to the dance performance Do Jump! at the Oregon Zoo.
On Friday, Aug. 27, the Trinity
Irish Dance Com pany will excite
a u d ie n c e s w ith th e ir v ig o ro u s
pow er, daring com positions and
staggering skill. The group has
added m odem m oves to the ancient
tradition o f Irish dance, redefining
the m edium with passion, flair and
