WORK DESCRIPTION: The work generally includes construction of
grading, landscaping, walkway improvement, concrete court, site
furnishing, playground installation and miscellaneous incidentals
for a com plete and functional facility, pursuant to Contract
Documents. The estimate of construction costs if $140,000. The
Project shall be completed in 90 days following issuance of the
Notice to Proceed.
Bids must be subm itted on the proposal forms furnished to the
bidders. Proposals shall be submitted in a sealed envelope plainly
marked " B ID Q N T H Q R P P A R K D E V E L O P M E N T - B I D * 0 4 5 0 3 4 ”.
and show the name and business address of the bidder.
Any objections to or com m ents upon the Bid specifications
m ust be subm itted in writing to the office o f the Purchasing
Supervisor, City Hall, Room 3 3 0 ,555 Liberty Street S.E. Salem,
Oregon 97301. They must be received no later than ten (10)
QLtyltusiness days before the bid closing date.
A surety bond, cashier's check, or certified check of bidder in the I
am ount often percent (10%) of the bid must be attached to each
proposal as bid security. Unsuccessful bidders will have their
security refunded to them when the contract has been awarded.
No bid, exceeding $2,000 will be received or considered by the
City of Salem or any of its officers unless the bid contains statement
by bidder (by signing his proposal) that the provisions of the Davis-
Bacon Act (40 U.S.C. 276a) shall be complied with. Every contractor |
or subcontractor is required to post the applicable prevailing wage
rates in a conspicuous and accessible place in or about the work­
site for the duration of the job. Contractors and subcontractors |
who intentionally fail to post the PWR can be made ineligible to
receive any public works contract for up to three years.
The City of Salem reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to
waive form alities and of postponing the award of the contract for
thirty (30) days. Prices quoted shall be firm for a period of 30 days
after the closing date.
The attention of bidders is directed to the provisions of Chapter
97, Salem Revised Code, co ncerning unlaw ful em ploym ent
practices. Violation of such provisions shall be grounds for
im m ediate term ination o f this contract w ithout resources by |
contractor.

County’s steel, concrete and wood bridges. This position will
perform strenuous manual labor, in all weather, under heavy traffic
conditions, and at heights up to 160 feet. Requires 2 years of
welding experience to include structural steel; CDL; and must
obtain work zone traffic control certification with 3 months. Salary
Range is $20.07 to $21.16 per hour.
