to Drug Charges
(AP)— Beanie Sigel, a Philadel­
phia rapper who was a protege of
rap superstar Jay-Z, pleaded guilty
to federal drug and weapons
charges and now faces trial on at­
tempted murder charges.

guidelines, Sigel faces about
three years in prison on charges
stemming from a 2002 traffic stop
when au th o rities said Sigel
ditched his sport utility vehicle
and a loaded handgun while flee­
ing from police. Investigators
said they found drugs in the ve­
h icle, in clu d in g co d ein e,
Oxycodone and marijuana.
In a separate case, Segel, 30,
begins trial this week for attempted
murder.
During his seven-year music
career, Sigel’s records have sold
more than 1 million copies.
