Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center announces two gal
lery exhibitions featuring Sylvia Welch and a Marti Gras Art
Auction Preview.
The Marti Gras exhibit is on display in the Main Gallery
through the gala event from 7 to 11 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21.
Tickets are $40 for individuals and $75
for couples.
W elch's work is exhibited in the
Entry Gallery, and will show through
Feb. 26 in celebration of Black History
M onth.
Welch, inspired by the rich palette
and texture of the African mud cloths of
Mali, West Africa, presents fabric wall-
hangings- variations of a flat weave,

mother, turned his life around. He
attended college, earned a law de
gree, became the youngest judge
in Michigan’s history and then
served as a Superior Court Judge
for Michigan’s 36,h District.
