A Voice of Deliverance Conference ¡scorning to Portland
for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
Pastor and Mrs. L.L. Hosley Sr. and the HeavenBound
Deli verance Center Church are hosting the Voice of Deliver­
ance Conference 2003 with special guest Pastor Nathan
Simmons, international evangelist and prophet from Atlanta,
Ga. along with the legendary and highly anointed gospel
recording artist and evangelist Dorinda Clark Cole.
The special events are held W ednesday, Nov. 19 through
Friday, Nov. 21 at the HeavenBound Deliverance Center
Church, 126 N.E. Alberta St. at 7 p.m.
Special musical guests include The HeavenBound Minis­
tries Reunion Recording Choir, The Emanuel Temple Full
Gospel Pentecostal Church Recording Choir, recording artist

Graveside services were held Oct. 31 in Lone
Fir Pioneer Cemetery in southeast Portland for
Doris Bell who died Oct. 18 at age 82.
She was bom July 16. 1921, in Texarkana.
Texas. She moved to Portland in the early
1950s, and was a homemaker. Her maiden name
was Doris Johnson.
Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Patton;
niece Shirley Caldwell; nephews, Otis Johnson
and Daryl Johnson.
Arrangements were under the direction of
Caldwell's Colonial Chapel.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Nov. 4 in Holy
RedeemerCatholic Church in Portland for James L. Novak,
who died Oct. 24 at age 93.
Mr. Novak was bom Sept. 27, 1910, in Scappoose. He
worked in the shipyards in Portland during World W ar II.
He was a plumber-technician for the Portland Fire Bureau
and owned three restaurants in Scappoose, including Jim ’s.
In 1942, he married Mildred H. Niederle; she died in 2001.
Survivors include his daughter, Marie Cronin; son,
Louis Novak; and one grandchild.

at True V ine M issionary B aptist C hurch for
Robert E. H arrison, w ho died O et. 31 at age 67.
Mr. Harrison was born Nov. 1, 1935, in H eidel­
berg, Miss. He m oved in 1966 to P ortland, w here
he was a grinder for V aricast. In I960, he m arried
