DO YOU HAVE
WHAT IT TAKES
TO EARN THE
GREEN BERET?
LESSONS IN LIFE
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
As a television journalist, ReShonda Tate Billingsley, spends
her days slicking to the facts hut in her dehut novel, "My Brother’s
Keeper," Billingsley gives way to her creativity.
"My Brother’s Keeper," released last month, has been called
"poignant,” "captivating," "emotional,” and "intriguing.” The novel
takes a humorous and heart-wrenching look at how deep child
hood issues can run. The book
is about forgiving, forgetting
and finding the strength to
move on.
The story centers around
Aja James, whose life has been
anything but easy. The char
acter keeps a close watch over
her siblings after tragedy
robbed them of their parents.
Aja seems to have rebounded
from the loss of her parents,
but her brother and sister have
not. She decides to break the
cycle of rage and violence in her family, even if it means putting
her own life and love, on hold.
“The story is fictional, but the problems they face are very real,”
Billingsley said.
If your answer is yes, then the United States Army has a unique opportunity tor you
- to become a Special Forces Soldier - a Green Beret You 'll learn from some of the
best Soldiers anywhere, and put your new shills to work in duty stations around the
world. It takes plenty of hard work to earn the green beret, but the pride you’ll feel
when you wear it for the first time will make it all worthwhile
