She has presented at various conferences and
forums on topics relating to diversity and cultural
competency and has published work in the field.
The OHSU nursing school offers Bachelor of
Science and masters’ degrees for nurse practi­
tioners, clinical nurse specialists and public health
specialties. Post-master’s certificates and edu­
cational doctorates are also awarded.
The school is a diverse community. The stu­
dent body and faculty are diverse in age, life
experience and socio-cultural origin.
According to OHSU officials, the profession
stands at the threshold o f a great new era in
nursing advancement. Rapid changes in health
care technology, knowledge and delivery re­
quire new skills and learning.
Nurses are taking on greater responsibility
in hospitals and are finding new opportunities
