known R&B musician turned pimp
and dealer in the ghettos of
Sandusky, Ohio. Donnell recently

Patrick Lamb is
a celebrated
musician in the
R&B sphere.
The Fourth Annual Coastal R & B concert de
scends on Chinook Winds Casino for a dance party
on Saturday, Oct. 18. Famed northwest performers
Patrick Lamb and Paul deLay will join Mel Brown, a
first time performer at the casino.
The concert closes with a grand finale M aster Jam
Session.
The Patrick Lamb Band has performed with artists
such as George Benson, B.B. King, Kenny G. Wynton
and Bradford Marsalis and has performed at the White
House.
Paul deLay, considered one o f the finest blues
harmonica players and singer-songwriters to be found,
and his band, are well known in blues circles across the
nation.
Mel Brown, siting behind his set o f A llegradrum s,
is noted for his work with fhe Suprentes, The Tem p
tations. Diana Ross, Martha and the Vandellas, and
numerous jazz musicians.

Neo-soul duo Floetry, rapper Missy
“Misdemeanor" Elliot and singer Heather Headley
took home the most awards at the 2003 Soul Train
Lady o f Soul Awards.
Floetry was honored for best single by a group,
“ Say Yes," and best album by a group for their
“ Floetic," as well as best new group.
Elliott won twice, in best song o f the year and best
music video for the raunchy "W ork It."
■ Headley’s “He Is” won her honors as best new
solo artist, and her album "This is Who I Am" was
named the best solo effort o f the year.
Other winners included Dorinda Clark-Cole for
best gospel album and Erykah Badu for solo single
with “ Love o f my Life.”
Badu also took home the 2003 Aretha Franklin
“ Entertainer o f the Year” award, and Vivica A. Fox
was chosen for the 2003 Lena I lome Aw ard honoring
career achievement.
