(A P) — T he N FL plans to scrap
all-star officiating crew s for the play-
qffs, choosing instead to use o ffi­
cials w ho w orked together during
the regular reason. The decision
w as designed to elim inate the kinds
o f g a f f e s th a t p la g u e d th e
p o stse a so n .
T he m ove, announced T uesday
at the N FL m eetings, is designed to
ensure m ore cohesion w ithin the
crews. Until now, playoff crew s had
been m ade up o f officials w ho rated
the highest at their positions but
h adn’t necessarily w orked together
before.

after being elbow ed in a victory o v er W is­

w ear protective goggles and play in the
round o f 16 this w eekend.

Johnson, the m ost valuable player o f
the S outheastern C onference tournam ent
earlier this m onth, w as accidentally e l­
bow ed m idw ay through M onday n ig h t’s
game.
She crum pled to the floor, crying in
pain, and stayed dow n for several m o ­
m ents. Johnson then headed to the locker
room w ith the help o f a trainer. She re ­
turned to the gam e briefly but quickly w ent
back to the bench, w here she kept ice
pressed to h er head.
