Large Trucks Banned
Interstate MAX construction has permanently
changed the geometry o f Interstate Avenue in north
Portland resulting in turning restrictions for larger
trucks.
Trucks greater than 50 feet in length will not be
allowed to make left or right turns onto the thorough
fare from North Lombard and North Portland Boule
vard. The traffic restrictions will be posted with signs
at each intersection.
TriM et officials said the big trucks are not able to
negotiate these turns and can cause severe damage
not only to the MAX station platforms but to them
selves as well.
