Justin Stiles finished in 3rd place
overall in the 9-10 y ear old d iv i­
sion. D aniel Snoey an d T y C h am -
bers tied for 1 st place in the 11 -12
year old division, w ith Snoey w in­
ning in a putting tiebreaker. All o f
these young w inners qualified for
the regional com petition held in
R eno, N ev. on Oct. 5.

refused to put the station on its
basic cable lineup, citing the lack o f
com pelling program m ing other than
the T rail Blazers.
A T & T offered to put A SC N on
its digital spectrum , an offer the
B lazers refused due to the lack o f
digital cable subscribers.
T he sides rem ained at an im ­
passe, even w aging a public re la ­
tions w ar through a series o f c o m ­
m ercials urging fans to call each
o th e r's custom er service d ep art­
m ent to co m p lain .
A SC N w as available through
other cable operators, but only a
few thousand hom es in the P ort­
land area could get it.
“Unfortunately, A SCN was never
able to achieve sufficient distribu­
tion o f its product to allow it to remain
in business,” A SC N vice president
Harry Hutt said in a statem ent.

Trail Blazers president Bob W hitsitt
broke the new s to em ployees at 2
p.m . T he station w as o ff the air by
midnight.

in a statem ent.
