REQUEST FOR BIDDER PREQUALIFICATION PROPOSALS
Stormwater Sediment Remediation and Recycling Services
The City of Portland requests proposals for bidder prequalification
for stormwater sediment remediation and recycling services. The
prequalification process consists of a) review of the bidder's
methods to confirm that they meet the City’s environmental needs,
and b) a trial of the bidder’s remediation technology on a test
batch of the City’s sediment. Before and after sam pling and
chemical testing for a specific suite of contaminants will be
performed on the trial batch to confirm the effectiveness of the
bidder’s technology at remediating the City’s sediment to the City’s
standards.
Proposals must Include a general description of the bidder’s
remediation and recycling methods and technology, and the name,
address, and phone number of bidder’s business representative
for purposes of completing the prequalification process. Proposals
must be submitted In writing or by fax to City of Portland, Bureau
of Purchasing. Proposals for the 2002 bidding process must be
re ce ive d no la te r th a n 4 :0 0 pm S e p te m b e r 2 0, 2 0 0 2 .
Announcement of the City’s bid process for stormwater sediment
remediation and recycling services Is anticipated to follow on or
about October 1.

The City of Olympia Is seeking proposals from qualified parties to
develop and operate a conference center In Downtown Olympia.
The proposal must also address inclusion of a gallery and workshop
space for visual arts. The building should feature design that is
both d is tin c tiv e and fe a tu re s e n viro n m e n ta lly s e n s itive
construction methods. Proposers are asked to identify a site, a
preliminary building concept, an operating proposal and finance
plan.
Copies of the RFP: You may obtain a complete copy of the Request
for Proposal (RFP), which describes the: 1) minimum project
requirements: 2) necessary project elements; 3) desirable project
elem ents; 4) potential city p a rticip ation; 5) project labor
agreement; and, 6) evaluation of proposals, by contacting Steven
Friddle, Principal Planner, at P.O. Box 1967, Olympia, WA 98507-

Deadline for subm ittal: Five (5) copies of the proposal must be
received by 12:00 noon on Friday, October 18,2002. Proposals

A pre-proposal conference will be held Friday September 27lh at
9:00 AM to answer questions about this RFP. Attendance by a
representative of each proposer Is encouraged but not mandatory.
The conference will be held at in Smith Conference Room at the
Olympia Comm unity Development Department located at: 837
7th Avenue SE, Olympia, WA. Please contact Steve Friddle for
