Stephen Hawking has done innovative research into the basic laws w hich
govern the universe. W ith Roger Penrose, he showed that Einstein’s
G eneral Theory of Relativity implied space and time would have a begin
ning in the Big Bang and an end in black holes. Hawking will be speaking
