The Artist Repertory Theatre
continues its season with a heart­
warming new American play,
“Crumbs from the Table of Joy.”
It chronicles the life of a young
girl coming o f age and the black
migration to the North during
the 1950s.
“Crumbs from the Table of Joy”
is based on the life of 17-year old
Ernestine Crump. Her father, who
is still reeling from the recent death
of his wife, seeks solace in the
preaching of an elixir-hawking ra­
dio evangelist and relocates the
family from Florida to Brooklyn to
be closer to Father Divine. When
their cosm opolitan Aunt Lily
m oves in, E rnestine and her
younger sister, Ermina, find them­
selves tom between their father’s
strict religious beliefs and the al­
lure of Lilly’s independence, be­
bop music and promises of social
revolution.

Christmas Bazaar

Friday, Nov. 30
Sojourn Theatre will be having a production of “Tartuffe: The
Visitor,” on Friday, Nov. 30 at the Echo Theatre. “Tartuffe: The
Visitor” tells the story of a household turned upside down by a
pious visitor who demands moral obedience from his host family.
