An international symposium called Crossing Boundaries: East-West
Symposium in Print Art will take place at Portland State University, Oct.
10-13. It offers many opportunities to see art and hear speakers address­
ing the role o fpnnts and printing techniques in today' s art environment.
The event will be held at Onda Gallery, located at 2215 N.E. Alberta St.
Onda is one o f forty-plus area galleries showing a wide range o f print

Flying Sparks

Odette Larson is the author o f “Flying Sparks,” a true life story about
the sexual and physical abuses she endured growing up in Las Vegas
during the 1950’s. Larson will open a discussion on issues o f abused
• girls, and promote her book in the Vanport Room, Smith Center at

Out on Broadway
Broadway actors and actresses will be performing at “Out on Broad-
; way,” a stage show featuring dramatic and musical performances to
benefit Esther’s Pantry, a Portland-based charitable organization pro­
viding food and personal items to persons with AIDS. The show will be

Moviegoers who donate three cans o f food at any Regal C inemas in the
state on Thursday, Oct. 4 can see a movie for free and receive a free child-
size popcorn. All shows except starred attractions are eligible. And for
more entertainment, Hollywood Video will offer customers a second
chance to give food and enjoy a free movie and free popcorn. Guests
can bring three cans o f food and receive a free video rental, including

is coming to rock Roseland. Folds came into prominence in 1995 as the

Alice Cotton, an Oregon architectural and house portrait artist/author,
