Sexual Harassment Denied
(AP) — A Portland pastor denies
that he sexually harassed a female
pastor he supervised in the late 1980s
at a Kansas City, Missouri, church.
The Rev. Ronald W illiam s, who
m inisters to the Bethel A.M E.
Church in Portland, acknow ledges
th a t th e w o m an — S a u n d ra
M cFadden-W eaver— won a settle
m ent o f her harassm ent claim
against him.
But Williams says an insurance
company made the payments, not
himself.
The woman's lawyer says Williams
wasn’t dismissed as a deiendant until
after the settlement was reached.
Williams says he had a consen
sual sexual relationship with the
woman while he was unmarried but
she was married.
A memorial service will be held
Saturday July 28 at 6 p.m. at the Sal
vation Army, 5335 N. Williams.
