vated Theft in the First Degree, ten

First Degree.

em bezzlem ent o f over $500,000
from a local fam ily business. On
A ugust 15,2000, a w arrant w as
issued for her arrest after she fai led
to appear at bai 1 continuation hear
ing.

Northeast PAL Youth Center Burglarized
Reward Offered
for information
Leading To Arrest
The P A L Y outh C enter, located at
N.E. 172nd, was burglarized sometime
betw een 5:30 p.m. on Septem ber 8th
and 8:30 a.m. on Septem ber 9,2000.
T he suspects vandalized vending
m achines, destroyed external and
internal doors, and stole youth m em
bership fees.
Total dam age is estim ated in the
thousands. C arpentry P lu s’s Inc., a
business in G resham , O regon, and
B&H Locksm ith already responded
to P A L ’s call to try to m ake the doors
secure enough to keep vandals out
during the weekend.
“ I ca n ’t begin to tell you how sad
this makes m e,” said P A L Y outh C en
ter D irector Beth Faulhaber. “ W e are
closed for m aintenance this week,
but we sure h adn’t planned on re
placing doors and getting glass out
o f the carpet. W e d o n ’t have a re
serve fund for this kind o f dam age.”

Portland, a non-profit organization
dedicated to providing quality after
school program s for youth.
PAL Board has offered a reward to
anyone offering inform ation w hich
leads to the arrest o f an individual (or
individuals) in this burglary. “ W ere
asking for the co m m unity’s help in
solving this crim e," said PAL E xecu
tive Director M aura K. W hite-Cioeta.

Vancouver Police Investigate Meridee Reynolds Murder

lice O fficers w ere dispatched to a
suspicious death call at 3114 NE 57th
Ave. # 82. Prelim inary investigation
revealed that M eridee K. Reynolds
was shot dead in her apartm ent where
she lived alone. T h ere w as no sign
