was ju st one o f the many blessings
God had in store fo r Agree.
God prepared Agree fo r his solo
career by placing in his life mentors
such as F red Hammond, Pastor
M a rvin fVinans, a n d D o n n ie
McClurkin. Hammond noticed his
singing abilities as well as the desire
he had in his heart fo r ministry
immediately. Performing with the
aforementioned artists, Agee gained
television exposure on Bobby Jones
Gospel Hour, Get Ready with Bishop
T.D. Jakes and TCT Celebrate, to
name a few . H e also won two Stellar
awards in 1996 as part o f RFC.
N ationally, he has m ade m any
appearances with artists such as
Kirk Franklin ¿¡Family, Yolanda
Adams, the Clark Sisters, and The
Winans.

The Parent M entorpro gram ’s mission
is to help m others recovering from
addiction and dom estic violence to
improve their parenting and other life
skills through activities w ith volunteer
parent m entors. T hese m others are
com pleting residential treatm ent in
specific agenc ies that collaborate with
EM O to provide m entors.
“O regon C om m unity Foundation is
im pressed w ith the Parent M entor
P rogram ’s w ork to pair parents with
mentors w ho w ill help them develop
the p arenting skills and attitudes
needed for their children to get a
healthy start in life,” O C F program
officer Je ff A nderson said. “ It seem s
c le a r th a t th is k in d o f e a rly
in te rv en tio n is am o n g the m ost
effective m eans o f preventing later
problem s. It’s not the w hole solution
to the problem s faced by fam ilies at
risk for drug abuse or violence, but
it’s an im portant part.”

c h a r ita b le fu n d s d o n a te d by
individuals, fam ilies, and businesses
to enhance and support the quality o f
life in their com m unities. Today, the
foundation’s endow m ent consists o f

1918 in Grants Oklahoma. She was the
youngest o f tw o children bo m to
C laude and D ora Benson. She cam e
to Portland in 1942 she w orked for
P ortland Poultry and labored in the
sh ipyards and later did dom estic
w ork. She m arried Reuble B utler in
1963 w ho proceeded her in death. She
believed in taking care o f fam ily and
friends and w as very kind hearted
and giving. H annah will alw ays be
rem em bered for her words o f w isdom
and com passionate heart. She loved
fishing and to can foods and w as
k n o w n for her excellent cuisine.
H annah lived sim ple and had a zest
f o r lif e . S o m e o f H a n n a h
accom plishm ent w as that she won
three beauty contest in young adult
life.
She leaves to m ourn; three children

Fellow ship in K eizer, the m inistry
organizes bicycle outings designed
to develop friendships that m ay lead
to conversations about C hristianity,
and to help b elievers to becom e
stronger in their faith.
The idea came about after Karl LaCalli,
p a s to r o f s tu d e n t m in is tr ie s ,
challenged the brothers to use their
interest in m ountain biking for m ore
than ju st fun.
“In today’s culture, w e see extrem e
sports all o v er the place, and I think
w e need to take that to a m inistry
level,” LaC alli said. “ I dropped the
hint to (the A ranas) b y saying, ‘ Y ou
guys love this; w hy not consider it
m inistry?’ A nd they took o ff w ith it.”
T he teens organized an overnight
trip this past w eekend and planned
day trips for July 27 and Aug. 8. T he
b r o th e r s h a v e s c o u te d o u t th e
locations an d the logistics o f m aking
the trips happen.
