Broadway’s Darling!
Leapin’ Lizards! America’s most
beloved musical, Annie, returns to
the Keller Civic Auditorium for
eight delightful perform ances,
opening June 27, 2000.
After a hugely successful revival on
Broadway, an acclaimed London
production and UK tour, Annie has
gained momentum for its North
American tour o f more than 100
cities in the U.S. and Canada.
Produced by NETworks, Annie,
with music by Charles Strouse and
book by Thomas Meehan, is again
directed by its lyricist, M artin
Chamin, who brought the original
production o f Annie to Broadway
in 1977.
Since that time, he has directed five
national tours and two London
productions.
Boasting one o f Broadway’s rrtost
memorable scores,including “It’s
The Hard Knock Life,” “ Easy
Street,” “N .Y .C.” and the ever
optimistic “Tomorrow,” Annie is

Think you’ve seen it all at the unique
daV inci Days Festival? Think
again! There are new things to see
everywhere you tum at this year’s
daVinci Days Festival, July 14-16
in Corvallis, Oregon.
New to the festival are events such
as: theGuild Village featuring works
created by regional artists; the daring
feats and captivating treats o f the
International Street Perform ers
C a b a re t in c lu d in g tig h tro p e
walking, juggling and comedy; the
Leonardo 500 miniature battery-
powered vehicle race; a “Featured
Filmmakers Program” with panel
discussions lead by Academy and
Emmy Award winning filmmakers;
and the “Monument to Time” - a
working sundial made o f recycled
materials.
LEONARDO 500 - The pinewood
derby race o f the future! During the
Leonardo 500, homemade, battery-
powered vehicles the size o f a
shoebox compete in one o f two
categories, both o f w hich are
miniature vehicle versions o f two
popular races at daVinci Days.
Choose from the flamboyant artistry
o f the Kinetic Sculpture Race(KSR)
or the elctric cars built for the speed
and performance o f the Electrathon
Gran Prix.
Vehicles competing in the KSR
category will compete on a 500 cm
track containing obstacles o f sand,
water and roadway. Vehicles in the
mini electrathon category will
compete for most number o f laps
completed in the 500 second time
limit. The races will take place on
July 15-16, from 2:30to4:30 pm. in
the Mainstage Field on the Oregon
State University Lower Campus.

Denzer returns to daVinci Days to
create the sundial.
Denzer will use local and recycled
materials, including sand, straw
b ales and p o le s. C o stu m ed
storytellers will perform near the
sundial and will use the clock to
show elements o f time in their
stories.
