At the ages o f 10 Bari Ann gave her li fe to Christ. She was baptized at True Honor Missionary Baptist in Clute Texas, Pastor Anderson. She attends Lanier Elementary, Freeport, Texas; T. W Ogg Elementary School in Clute Texas. In 1969 the Jones family moved to Portland Oregon where she joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor A. Bernard Devers. In later years, Bari moved her membership to Berean Baptist Church, Pastor Nathan C. Barnett, Ptld,OR. and served as a faithful and devoted member until he resigned and then under the leadership o f Pastor Emmett Wheatfall. Where she served as a devoted member on the Usher Board; Planning Participant for the Berean 2000 Reunion; Vocational Bible SchoolTeacher and other auxiliaries. She attend Martin Luther King Elemental' ard J.V. Beach Elementary, upon graduating from James Monroe High School in 1975 with honors. Then she continued her education at Portland State University majoring in Business Administration. Bari Ann Jones worked for Meier & Frank and stated working for the City o f Portland at the age o f fifteen afterschool in the OfficeoftheCity/County JusticeCoordination& Planning. She worked at various bureaus over the years until being hired by Mayor Connie McCready in 1979. From 1980 until 1985, she worked for Mayor Frank Ivancie. She temporarily work for Mayor Bud Clark before going to work for Commissioner Jim Francesconi as the Commissioner Assistant until 1999 upon retiring.
