The character o f the work is (general description). The major quantities
involved are:
1. Furnish and place 150 tons o f rock rip rap for stream bank toe
reinforcement.

Furnish materials and install 600 linear feet o f coir fabric lifts for bank
reinforcement.
3. Furnish and install 1800 native plantings.
4. Dispose o f surplus material at an acceptable-off-site location.
5. Provide erosion control.

bid contains a statement by the bidder as a part o f the bid that the provisions

The Regional Environmental Management Department o f Metro, a
metropolitan service district organized under the laws o f the State of
Oregon and the 1992 Metro Charter, is requesting proposals for the
transport, recycling, treatment, storage, and disposal o f materials collected
in M etro’s Household Hazardous Waste and Conditionally Exempt
Generator W aste Collection Programs (RFP#OOR-12-REM). Proposals
will be due no later than 3:00p.m. PDT, Friday May 26*’, 2000, in Metro’s
business offices located at 600 NE Grand Avenue, Portland, Oregon
97232-1700, Attention: Jim Quinn, Regional Environmental Management
Department.
Metro has divided wastes into 28 categories. These 28 categories are
grouped into nine different groups o f similar categories. Each group will
be evaluated separately. Proposers may submit proposals for disposal o f
one group, several groups, or all groups. Metro may award several
contracts for one or more groups or may award a single contract if one
Proposer is selected for award for all groups.
