Previous projects hosted at the PCPA venues such as Woman thou art Loosed, Somebody Oughta Tell God, and Bernie Mac are cata­ logued by national producers con­ tracted with First Lady Entertain­ ment to coordinate local grounds promotion. These dollars do not influence our market. First Lady Entertainment is a full-service pro­ duction company with the critical task of filling the Civic Auditorium once again. Its mission statement; “Rais­ ing awareness through entertain­ ment, working together COLLEC­ TIVELY for, ONE CAUSE.” The importance of this event means; its success will establish continuation of venue usage by local minority production companies. And influ­ ence future usage by the young art­ ist we are currently preparing through music education. Its been more than a decade since a local minority organization’s appli­ cation has been approved to pro­ duce or promote an event at the PCPA box offices. Portland Cen­ ter for Performing Arts owns and operates Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, C ivic A uditorium , Winningstad and Performing Arts Center, the only venues with the capacity to bring forth national R&B entertainment. Concertgoers are often under the impression that R&B entertainment is financed by Dee Baker, founder o f First Lady Entertainment, views the Temptations on April 19 at Casino San Puhlo.
