R equest for Q ualifications Due Thursday, May 25,2000
Sealed proposals for the Kelly Creek (North o f Di vision), CDBG No. 906500
will be received by the Department o f Environmental Services at Gresham
City Hall, 1333 N.W. Eastman Parkway, Gresham, Oregon 97030, unti 1 June
15,2000, at 10:00 a.m., local time, at which time they will be publicly opened
in conference room 2B.
The character o f the work is (general description). The major quantities
involved are:
1. Furnish and place 150 tons o f rock rip rap for stream bank toe
reinforcement.
2. Furnish materials and install 600 linearfeet o f coir fabric lifts for bank
reinforcement.
3. Furnish and install 1800 native plantings.
4. Dispose o f surplus material at an acceptable-off-site location.
5. Provide erosion control.

Contractors must prequalify with the City o f Gresham, prior to the bid
opening, for construction as required by Gresham Revised Code 2.80480.
Prior to obtaining plans and specifications, contractors must have
purchased ($50) the current City o f Gresham Public Works Standards (July
20, 1993), as shown by the records o f the Department o f Environmental
Services.
Plans and specifications may be examined at the office o f the Department
ofEnvironmental Services, 1333 N.W. Eastman Parkway,Gresham, Oregon.
Copies o f plans and specifications may be obtained from the Department
ofEnvironmental Services by paying a non-refundable fee o f $25 for each
set o f plans and specifications requested. If plans and specifications are
ordered by mail, add a $5 processing and mailing charge.
All proposals must be submitted on the forms furnished by the City of
Gresham, mailed or delivered to the Department ofEnvironmental Services,
City o f Gresham, in a sealed envelope plainly marked, “SEALED BID for the
Kelly Creek (North ofDivision)project, CDBG No. 906500, bearing the name
and address o f the bidder. Each must be accompanied by a certified check,
cashier’s check or bid bond in an amount not less than ten percent (10%)
o f the total bid.
Each bid must contain a statement as to whether the bidder is a resident
bidder, as defined in ORS 279.029. This project (is/is not) subject to the
license requirements ofORS 468A.720.
No bid will be received or considered by the City of Gresham unless the
bid contains a statement by the bidder as a part o f the bid that the provisions
o f 40 U.S.C. 276a and the Davis_Bacon Act will be complied with. No bid
shall be received or considered by the City o f Gresham unless the bidder
is registered with the Oregon Construction Contractors Board.
The City o f Gresham may waive minor informalities, reject any bid not in
compliance with all prescribed public bidding procedures and requirements,
and may reject for good cause any or all bids upon a finding that it is in the
public interest to do so.

Oregon State University (OSU) is preparing to construct a new student
housing facility on its Corvallis Campus. The new 4-story “L” shaped,
wood frame, fire sprinkled structure will partially surround an existing
landscape quadrangle adjacent to Arnold Dining and Finley Residence
Halls. OSU has secured professional assistance from gLAs Architectural
Group and is now in the Master Planning and Design Development
stage. The University would like to bring a Construction Manager /
General Contractor (CM/GC) on board as soon as feasible to assist in
the design and planning o f this exiting project.
OSU is seeking a professional CM/GC experienced in Higher Education
work. The CM/GC team should include members experienced in
residential collegiate projects, working with other qualified professional
consultants to complete the goals o f this project. This project will move
at a very rapid rate. CM/GC Firms must have their final RFQ submittals
to the University no later than close of business, Thursday, May 25,
2000.
CM/GC Firms interested in this exciting project should respond in
writing no later than close ofbusiness, Friday, May 19,2000. Mail your

The Regional Environmental Management Department o f Metro, a
metropolitan service district organized under the laws of the State of
Oregon and the 1992 Metro Charter, is requesting proposals for the
transport, recycling, treatment, storage, and disposal of materials col lected
in Metro’s Household Hazardous Waste and Conditionally Exempt
Generator Waste Collection Programs (RFP#00R-12-REM). Proposals
will be due no later than 3:00p.m. PDT, Friday May 26lh, 2000, in Metro’s
business offices located at 600 NE Grand Avenue. Portland, Oregon
97232-1700, Attention: Jim Quinn, Regional Environmental Management
Department.
Metro has divided wastes into 28 categories. These 28 categories are
grouped into nine different groups o f similar categories. Each group will
be evaluated separately. Proposers may submit proposals for disposal of
one group, several groups, or all groups. Metro may award several
contracts for one or more groups or may award a single contract if one
Proposer is selected for award for all groups.
Proposals must conform to the RFP format and be complete including
the use o f any forms. Metro may accept or reject any or all proposals, in
whole or in part, or waive irregularities not affecting substantial rights if
such action is deemed in the public interest.
Metro and its contracts will not discriminate against any person(s)
