have experience promoting the health o f their communities. Currently, we

they will receive 17 hours o f academic credit from Portland Community

Disadvantaged Business Enterprise(DBE) Program:
Bidders are required to show that small subcontractors, suppliers, or
manufacturers which have been specifically designated by the Oregon
State Office o f Minority, Women, and Emerging Small Business as a
disadvantaged business enterprise (“DBE”) will participate in not less
than 17 percent o f the total dollar amount bid.
Description o f Work:
Overlay the south half o f Runway 3-21 and portions of three taxiways,
reconstruct a portion o f one taxiway, widen four exit taxiways, and
relocate an existing perimeter road utilizing asphalt concrete; remove and
reinstall runway and taxiway edge lights, taxiway centerline lights, and
in-pavement runway guard lights; excavate, fill, grade, and seed runway
and taxi way shoulders; install a new storm sewer system along both sides
o f Runway 3; and groove the finished runway surface.
A prebid conference will be held at 8:30 a.m. April 12,2000, at the Portland
International Airport Maintenance Facility, 7111 N.E. Alderwood Road,
Portland, Oregon, to discuss all phases o f the work, work phasing project
safety, and security. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend. This will
be the only time that the airfield will be available for site inspection prior
to bid opening.
