Bids will be publicly opened and read in the City Council Chambers, Room
240, City Hall, for the project specified herein at 11:00 a.m., local time,
Wednesday March 29,2000.
Bidder’s attention is drawn to compliance o f ORS 279.027 regarding
submission (in a separate envelope from the bid) o f the First-Tier
Subcontractor Disclosure Form by the deadline indicated on the form.
Disclosure forms are provided within the formal bid documents.

Work Description: Remove and replace existing kitchen cabinets and
flooring with associated structural, mechanical and electrical work in forty-
nine (49) apartment units in eleven (11) buildings at two (2) sites.
Bids must be submitted on the bid forms furnished to bidders. Bid forms
shall be submitted in a sealed envelope plainly marked “Bid On Project/
Kitchen Remodel @ Glen Creek And Brush College Villages - Bid No
990166”. And show the name and business address o f the bidder.
A Voluntary Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 1260 Orchard Heights Road
N. W., Salem, Oregon, Promptly at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 9,2000. A
tour o f the project site(s) will follow the pre-bid conference. Only one
orientation will be held. The entire pre-bid conference is expected to last
approximately One (1) hour, and bidders are encouraged to attend.
A surety bond, cashier’s check, or certified check o f the bidder in the
amount o f ten percent (10%) o f the bid must be attached to each proposal
as bid security. Unsuccessful bidders will have their security refunded to
them when the contract has been awarded.
No bid, exceeding $2,000 will be received or considered by the Salem
Housing Authority or any o f its officers unless the bid contains a statement
by the bidder (by signing his proposal) that the provisions of the Davis-
Bacon Act (40 U.S. C. 276a) shall be complied with. Every contractor or
subcontractor is required to post the applicable prevailing wage rates in a
conspicuous and accessible place in or about the work-site for the duration
o f the job. Contractors and subcontractors who intentionally fail to post the
PWR can be made ineligible to receive any public works contract for up to
three years.
The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory
Performance and Payment Bond, in the full amount o f the Contract.

contract for thirty (30) days. Prices bid shall be firm for a period o f 30 days
after the closing date.
No Bidder may withdraw their bid within thirty (30) calendar days after the
date o f bid opening.

The Metro Growth Management Department, a service o f Metro, the
regional government providing services in Multnomah, Clackamas and
Washington Counties is requesting written proposals for a team of
consultants for a project entitled “Development o f a Conceptual Land Use
Plan for the Damascus Pleasant Valley Area.” Details concerning the
project and statement o f work are contained in the RFP documents.
Proposals are due no later than 3:00 p.m., M arch 22,2000 in the Metro
Growth Management Department offices, Attn. Lydia Neil, 600NE Grand
Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97232. Proposals must be clearly marked
“Development o f a Conceptual Land Use Plan for the Damascus/Pleasant

Metro reserves the right to enter into agreements with one or more

The Portland State University Library needs a development officer to
assist with fund raising for its “Library of the Future” vision plan, which
will combine traditional library resources and services with the exciting
opportunities made possible by new technology. We will create on the
second floor ofthe Branford P . Millar Library a destination where members
o f the campus community and people from the surrounding metropolitan
area will have access to the latest information technology for academic
study and research.
Major Responsibilities: You will work with the library directorto identify
potential donors and assist with cultivation. You will be part of a group that
will identify and pursue grant-funding opportunities. You will work with
other campus development officers to coordinate Library fund raising with
other units o f the University.
Professional Q ualifications: a bachelor’s degree from an accredited
college or university and a minimum o f three years o f fund raising
experience with demonstrated success. Successful candidate will
understand and be comfortable in an academic environment. Must also
have, or be interested in acquiring, a knowledge o f academic libraries.
Salary and Benefits: Salary is $45,000/year. Primary benefits include a
choice o f medical and dental plans, 180 vacation hours and 96 paid sick
leave hours per year. Reduced staff tuition rates for PSU classes.
This is a full-time position through June 30,2001 after which it will be
reviewed with the intention o f making it a permanent appointment.

interested in providing a study o f the economic feasibility o f connecting
theexistingchillersin AgLifeScience(ALS). Burt Hall, Cordley Hall and
Nash Hall with a chilled water loop. In addition, the selected consultant is
to design the replacement ofthe existing single stage absorption chiller in
Nash Hall with a double effect absorption chiller that will connect to the
chilled water system in ALS. If it is determined it is feasible to connect the
buildings with a chilled water loop, and funding is obtained to construct
the loop, the selected design consultant will accomplish the design when
so authorized by Facilities Services / OSU.
