This concert is the sixth o f twelve concerts in the 1999-2000 concert season. Miles Ahead showcases original jazz and timeless covers. The blend is smooth and sweet featuring fun, enjoyable music for the whole family. The group has performed in a variety o f venues including Davinci Days Jazz Festival, Nike World Masters Games, Portland Historical Society. Portland, Oregon, for Joseph Doyle who died D ecem ber 30'h at the V eteran ’s Hospital in Portland at the age o f 72. Service wi 11 be held Tuesday, January 4,2000at 11:00 am. Mr. Doyle, the sixth o f six children, was b orn Jan u ary 24, 1927 in M em phis, Tennessee to the late Thomas H. Doyle, Sr. and Vallie E Johnson Doyle. He becomes a Christian and member o f the Church o f Christ in his early youth. Joe attended the city schools o f M emphis, after graduating from Manassas High he moved to Oakland, California, living and working therea number o f years. He moved to Portland, Oregon where he was married to Susan Reiss. To this union two daughters were bom. Mr. Doyle was a member o f the famous Ink Spots singing group. The Mallory Avenue Church o f Christ and his Alumni Association. He worked as a painter, an auto body and fender man, a bar tender, and a funeral attendant. He unsuccessfully ran for Mayor o f Portland, Oregon. He married Diana Foulke in 1984 who preceded him in death. Joseph’s brother and sisters dearly loved and spoiled him. He was the brother to the late Bonhoma Restoration 2000 A Spiritual, Church and Community Approach to Addressing Drug Abuse (Bonnie) Mackey and the late Thomas H. Doyle, Jr. Survivors include daughters: Vallie Annette and Veronica Ann Doyle o f Portland. Sisters: Woodred Savage, Gwendolyn Poston-Wade, and Vallie BoswellofCalifomia. Cousins: Vivian Douglass o f Chicago, Illinois and Juanita Williamson o f Cleveland, Ohio. And, many in-laws and friends. Joseph departed this life Thursday 30lh, 1999. Farewell dear loved one, sleep on and on and on. Thecremains will be interred in the family plot in Oakland, California.
