Lakewood Theatre Company to perform mystery Sleauth

wood Theatre Company continues
its 47th season on Friday, January
14th with the mystery. Sleuth, a
chilling and gripping thriller filled
with suspense and wit

gamesmanship, features the wick­
edly clever acting talents o f Keith

Mierake, Will Hickory, F. Thomas
Ranger and Julie Lamb. Perfor­
mances continue through Sunday,
February 20, playing T hursday
through Saturday niglits at 8:00 PM
and Sundays at 7:00 PM. The the­

About the Play: The action ofSleuth
takes place in thesumptuos manor
house o f A ndrew W yke (K eith
Scales), a highly successful writer
o f detective stories. Mr. Wyke has
built his house, and his life, to re­
semble his books. His high ceiling
living room is the perfect sophisti­
cated selling for one o f those mys­
tery tales that Wyke scoffs at and
that he himself writes effortlessly.
Into this lair for a perfect crime,
w here there are pokers for the
frreplace, a pistol in a desk drawer
and other such paraphernalia, Wyke
has invited a young man named
Milo Tindle (James Eikrem) who
has just moved into a cottage in the
neighborhood. Their get acquainted
drinks and conversation is urbanely
civilized at first. Just as Milo is be­
ginning to enjoy himself, Wyke tells
him he knows the youth is having
ing an affair with his wife. The
writer insists, however, he doesn’t
mind at all. In fact, he is perfectly
willing to let her go and lie has a
splendid idea by which they would
both profit.
