The Portland Boat Show, one o f the largest in the country,
allows boat buyers and boating enthusiasts to find hundreds of
boat makes and models. There are more boats and exciting
features; including a Viking ship and an amphibious assault
vehicle (AAV), expanded seminars and accessories. Visit the
Portland Boat Show this January 8 through 16, 2000 at the
Portland Expo Center.
The Portland Boat Show has been the leader in the marine
trade show industry for 40 years, attracting tens of thousands of
boating enthusiasts from across the Nothwest and beyond. The
show offers a wide range o f boats for every type of aficionado -
from fishing to sportboats, ski-boats to personal watercrafts and
yachts. Sailboaters feel right at home with dozens o f sailboats (up
to 40 feet) and plenty o f expert advice. See the one-of-a-kind
Araminta, Legendary Yachts latest ketch entry.
For the first time in history, the United States Marine Corp,
brings the highly prized Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAV) to
the show. The Portland Boat Show is now able to bring this to the
public after working for over a year with the Pentagon and the
United States Marine Corp. The United States Marine Corp, uses
this high tech military vehicle to fight on land and water. A
contingent of the United States Marines will be available during
the show to answer questions and greet on-lookers.
Scuba divers and adventurers have a reason to visit the show.
The W orld’s Largest Mobile Aquarium! Scuba demonstrations
occur in a giant 50 foot tank that holds 12,000 gallons of water.
The tank is filled with fish so the diving experience has a realistic
feel. Diving seminars occur every couple o f hours during the
show.
