Portland-area animation
guru Will Vinton says, “Ku
dos to Spike and Mike!
They’re that rare, maverick
organization that’s backed
the underdog and come up a
winner! Their belief in inde
pendent animation, and tena
cious, irreverent style has
wowed audiences nation
wide, elevating the art form
to cult status.. and beyond!”
Featured films include 1998
Oscar winner Bunny, from
Blue Sky Studios. Also in
cluded is Hum Drum, the
newest from Aardman Ani
mation; Billy’s Ballroom,
the w inner o f the 1999
Slamdance competition and
newest from cult favorite
Don Hertzfeldt; and The
Queen’s Monastery, winner
o f the Silver Hugo at the
1998 Chicago Film Festival
from Emma Calder of En-
gland.
