Homicide
Portland Police Bureau Homicide
Investigators, in cooperation with
Crime Stoppers, are asking for your
help in identifying and apprehending
the suspects in a murder. On Saturday,
July 10,1999, at about 1 o ’clock in the
morning, three Asian males were told
to leave after being involved in an alter­
cation with security at Doc’s Tavern,
located at 3000 SE Powell Boulevard.
Approximately one hour later, two of
the individuals returned and opened
fire at two security guards in the park­
ing lot. One of the guards was shot and
killed, and a tavern employee who was
seated in a car in the parking lot was
wounded.
Suspect # 1 is described as an Asian
male, 20 to 25 years of age, 5’5” to
5’T ’ tall, thin build, with short hair and
long bangs over his forehead, and a cut
hand or finger. At the time he was
wearing a blood smeared I -shirt, khaki
pants and a gold colored wristwatch.
Suspect #2 is described as an Asian
male, 20 to 25 years of age, 5’5” to
5’T ’ tall, thin build, wearing a white
shirt and dark pants.
Individual #3 is a person of interest
who was with the suspects during the
initial altercation at the tavern, but was
not present during the shooting. He is
described as an Asian male, 40 to 45

pounds with a stocky build and pot
belly, bald or balding with a crown of
hair, wire-framed glasses and possible
mustache. He was wearing a green polo-
type shirt and shorts.
A possible suspect vehicle is de­
scribed as a dark blue mid-80’s Honda
Prelude or Accord with Oregon Trail
plates, left front fender damage, the
rear bumper partially pulled away on
the driver’s side, and a lawn fertilizer
spreader in the back seat.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash
reward of up to $1,000 for informa­
tion, reported to Crime Stoppers, that
leads to an arrest in this case, or any
unsolved felony crime, and you can
fire investigators office has deter­
mined that the fire was set under
“suspicious circumstances” and that
an accelerant was used to ignite a
building. Two people were seen
riding bikes west bound on Arata from
the scene shortly after fire fighters
arrived.
The items located near the source
of the fire are available for photo­
graphing by the media and may reveal

Arson At Golf Course
On September 28th, 1999 at ap­
proximately 4:35 a.m. a fire was
started, under suspicious circum­
stances, at the Hound Hollow G olf
Course (23010 W. Arata RD) in
east Multnomah County. The fire
caused over $150,000 in damage to
the golf facility.
A unique women’s golfbag, golf
club covers, a pop can, baseball bat
and a “ball shag” were located near
