up as Sunset Boulevard comes to the
Portland Civic Auditorium for a lim­
ited engagement September 14-19.
Based on Billy W ilder’s acclaimed
1950 film, Sunset Boulevard is a
p a ssio n a te love story set on
Hollywood’s street of dreams. It tells
the story of a young, down-on-his-
luck screenwriter, Joe Gillis, and his
fa te fu l m e e itn g w ith N o rm a
Desmond, a legendary silent film
star who dreams of returning to the
silv er screen. A ndrew Lloyd
W ebber’s sweeping, romantic melo­
dies soar against the glamorous back
drop ofl950’s Hollywood, from the
P aram o u n t Pictures backlot, to
Schwab’s famous drugstore, to the
d e c a d e n t sp le n d o r o f N orm a
Desmond’s mansion.
Notice is hereby given that on September
13, 1999, at 9:00 a . m ., a public hearing
will be held by the Port of Portland at 220
NW 2nd, Hospitality Room, 4th Floor,
Portland, Oregon (Northwest Natural Gas
Building).
The purpose of this hearing is to inform the
public of, and seek input on the Port’s
Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)
program and policy. The primary focus is DBE
participation goal setting in accordance with
the revised US Department of Transportation
rules set forth in 49 CFR Part 26.
A copy of the Port’s DBE Program is available
for public inspection at the Port of Portland
building at 121 NW Everett, Contracts &
Procurement, 5th Floor, or at the time of the
hearing. We are inviting public comment for 30
days following the date of this notice. We will
accept written comments on the goals for 45
days following the date of this notice.
