T he P o rtla n d D evelop m ent Com m laalon (PDC) is soliciting architectural
design firm s to pa rticip ate in the C o m m issio n's S torefront Im provem ent
Program. The design firm s will provide architectural services to program
a p p lic a n ts o n be ha lf o fth e C om m ission. The follow ing inform ation describes
th e purpose and in te n t of the program and the scope o f services required o f
th e selected firm s.
The S tore fro nt Im provem ent Program is being offered to business and
property ow ners in new and existing targe t areas. New targe t areas include
the Pearl D istrict and W est End (Downtown), NE Sandy Boulevard, SE Foster
Road and NE M ississip p i/S h a ve r. Existing targe t areas are located along
NE M artin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, NE Alberta. Lents, Hum boldt, Central
E astside. and SE M ilw aukie Avenue. Additional areas may be added as the
ta rg e t areas are expanded. Som e areas' eligibility will end.
PDC seeks co n su lta n ts who are experienced in quality architectural
design, retail and com m ercial rem odeling and who are adept a t identifying
creative design alte rna tives. The selected co n su lta n ts will work closely with
both th e b u s in e s s /p ro p e rty owner and PDC s ta ff to carry out th e required
w ork ta sks.
