Nature's New Fremont Store
Now Open
N orthwest announced the
opening o f its new est store at 3535
NE 1 5 '\ T he Frem ont N ature’s
opened June 22, 1999, and will be
everyday from 8 a . m . to 10 p . m .
A benefit bar-b-que will be held during the
opening weekend. June 26 & 27, noon to 5 p . m .,
to raise tunds for Self Enhancement incorpo­
rated, dedicated to helping inner-city youth
realize their lull potential by providing oppor­
tunities for personal and academic success.
Additionally, a percentage o f proceeds from
Nature’s Last Wednesday program forboth June
and July will benefit the Multnomah County
Library Summer Reading Program. More than
20,000 youth participate in the program, which
encourages them to sharpen their literacy skills
through a variety o f fun activities and incentives.
The new Fremont Nature's encompasses
34,000 sq. feet and offers expanded off-street
parking, as well as additional products and ser­
vices not available before at the former location,

The new Nature’s Marketplace on Fremont
offers an innovative mix o f goods and services,
including a day spa salon; a pharmacy with a

a Cafe; an information resoui ce center with free
Internet access; and one o f the largest selections
o f natural and specialty foods in the region.

Light Rail Goes to
Airport
A nother expansion o f the light rail
system in the m etro Portland area has
been approved. The F ederal A viation
A dm inistration has O -K ’s plans by
the P ort o f P ortland to use passenger
facility charges to help pay for the
five-m ile extension o f the light rail
from the G atew ay district to the air­
port term inal. The m oney w ill be used
to pay for bonds sold for the project.
