RECREATIONAL VEHICLES
Traveling by vehicle is the preferred way to travel by most.
Whether by car, minivan or sport-utility — it doesn't matter.
Rolling along the nation’s highways in a recreational vehicle is
becoming a popular way to see the USA, and African Americans
aren’t exempt. An increasing number of couples and families
will load up the RV and take off for a week or two, stopping at
various iites along the way.
Once again the National African American Recreational
Vehicles Association (NAARVA), an organization that brings
African-American RV owners together to promote and carryout
wholesome fellowship, has compiled a camping calendar tor the

1999 season. The organization began in 1993 and has grown to
include chapters in 36 states. NAARVA has a membership of
805 families and a goal to promote and preserve the beautifica­
tion of our natural resources.
"Everybody who wants to be a part ot us can join. Anybody
who wants to get together and enjoy their lives and these expen­
sive toys we have are invited , Ellis says.
