Cinco de Mayo showcases Mexi­
can food, music, dance, and Latin
rhythms featuring popular Mexican
and Hispanic artists and groups, in­
cluding Guadalajara’s internation­
ally famous Folk Ballet, the Grupo
Folklorico de Guadalajara, and the
Guadalajara Mariachi Band.
In addition to the C hildren’s,
M erchants and Artisan Plazas will
be the greatly expanded “La Plaza
Mercado” reminiscent of a typical
town in Mexico where merchants sell
their wares, and just as in Mexico,
authentic artisans demonstrate and
sell their hand-crafted art work.

nival, Fireworks Spectacular, Natu­
raliz atio n C erem ony, M ariach i
Mass, and much more, and guests
will see why Sister Cities Interna
tional, headquartered in Washing­
ton D C. representing over 3,200
chapters with affiliations in 125
co u n tries, the P resid en t of the
United States is their H onorary

Guadalajara Sister City Association
their 1998 Collaboration Award.
