Central Library will host four free
events in celebration o f National
poetry M onth in April.
On W ednesday, from 7-9 Will
Schneberg (O regon Literary Arts
Fellow ship R ecipient and author
o f “Box Poems") leads “The Poetry
o f Place,” a w orkshop for adults
focusing on the role o f place in
poetry. Participants will find out
how inspirations from places such
as childhood homes, vacation lo­
cales, towns only read about and
the sites o f im agination can be­
come vibrant m aterial for poems.
The group will read poems by con­
tem porary poets and view slides
from fam iliar and exotic clim es in
which place is a central focus, then
write poems and share them. Par­
ticipants are asked to bring copies
o f a place poem they have already
written. The workshop will be held
in the U.S. Bank Room and space is
lim ited and on a first-com e, first-
served basis.

Developer Bill Reed is planning to build a multi-family bousing structure on the block bounded by North W illiams and Vancouver Avenue and Fargo and Cook Street.The building will have 6 ,0 0 0 square
