Eddie M urphy and M artin Lawrence star in Life, an endearing
comedy from Universal Pictures and Im agine E ntertainm ent. Co-
starrin g O b b a B ab atu n d e (T h at T h in g You Do), Ned Beatty,
Clarence Williams III (H oodlum , H alf Baked) Cicely Tyson and
Bernie Mac, the film reunites M urphy with Brian G razer, the pro­
ducer of his 1996 sm ash hit comedy, T h e Nutty Professor. Ted
Demme (Beautiful Girls, the Ref) is the film's director.
Ray (M urphy) and C laude (Lawrence) are two m en who are
wrongly convicted of m u rd er and sentenced to life im prisonm ent
at a Mississippi penitentiary. O ver the course of 60 years, they wit­
ness hardship and kindness, cruelty and forgiveness, life and death.
But their hum orous way of looking at life prevails as their friend­
ship deepens and endures, and the pair never lose hope that one
day, somehow, they will walk outside the prison walls as free men.
