    The 41" annual Ebony Fashion
Fair “ Fashions To Love” will appear
in Portland at the Doubletree Ho
tel, Jantzen Beach, on Friday April
16, 1999, at 8 PM. The world’s larg
est traveling fashion show is pro
duced by Ebony magazine and is
sponsored by the Portland Chapter
of the Links, incorporated for the
benefit of the Links’ educational
and scholarship fund.
Mrs. Eunice W. Johnson, producer
and director of the show, personally
selects fashions from the exclusive col
lections of famed designers such as
Yves Saint Laurent, Oscar De La
Renta, V alentino, Bob M ackie,
Giorgio Sant’ Angelo, Fabrice, and
Bruce Oldfield.
Mrs. Johnson is meticulous and
thorough in purchasing the most spec
tacular fashions available for the
Ebony Fashion Fair audiences.
More than 200 exquisite garments
complete with the latest accessories,
10 female and 2 male models, com
mentator, music director, stage and
business managers, and wardrobe
staff travel from coast to coast on a
special chartered greyhound bus. Be
cause of the unprecedented demand
for sponsorship of the show by chari
table organizations around the coun
try, Ebony Fashion Fair now tours two
season - the East and Midwest from
September through December, and
the South and West from January
through May - appearing in more
than 190 cities.
Mrs. Addie Jean Haynes, general
chairperson of the benefit perfor
mance, indicates ticket sales are go
