The Urban League of Portland state that ‘‘Our Children =
Our D estiny”, that is why we emphasized the 3 “E ”s,
Education, Employment and Equality. These are the
foundation that African Americans like Paul Robeson,
Mary McCloud Bethune and Urban League of Portland
first Executive Director, Edwin C. ‘‘Bill” Berry, 1945-1955,
work so hard for.
We salute the founder of Black History month, Carter G.
Woodson for opening our eyes and m ind’s to the
contribution that African Americans have made to the
greatness of America.
