Through his w ork he has explored his heritage by creating Z en rock gardens and sculp ture that could have been produced by volcanic forces. The familiarity o f concrete m akes it easy to overlook, but Botkins sculptures elevate it in the aesthetic eye. Joe M acca uses acrylic and dry- wall com pound on canvas and vari ous surfaces, all in a sm all format. Som e o f his painting are no larger than 3" X 5" and up to 9 1/2" X 10".
