Rapid change occurs at blinding speeds, which allows no room for thought. We must act or lose out! Never before has modem man been so aggressively and urgently influenced to accept the trend of the moment. This compelling ap peal to join in plays on those who live without purpose, perhaps with teenagers more than any other age group. Without purpose, they are without direction and without di rection, insecurity is a way of life. The choices in life are easily made for them, and made effortless to act upon by the machine behind those who assure instant happi ness and salvation from a non caring world. This existence is robotic, cold and without feeling, readily seen in the bland stares of those who model the mechanisms of so called rescue. Living ‘O N ’ Purpose means finding and acting upon our true heart’s desire. This is the fire that fills a soul with the passion to pursue a certain direction in life regardless of reward, opinion or what is currently fashionable. This is not ‘pleasure without con science,’ as Gandhi described one of the eight blunders the human society commits, which act as the foundational causes behind all vio lence. It is always harmless and comes from a win-win perspective and an uncompromising integrity. The ones who are driven by passion are living their life purpose. You can see and feel it in the shine of their eyes, the spring in their step, the exhilaration of their expres sion and especially in the mag netic quality they have to influ ence others. Jan. 13, 1999 C2ff Blunders O f The World... Wealth without work. Pleasure without conscience. Knowledge without character, Commerce without morality, Science without humanity, Worship without sacrifice. Politics without principles, and Rights without responsibilities. •By Mahatma Gandhi Passion in this case means a burning desire, guided by uncon ditional love. It is a rare person who lives ‘ON’ purpose, but it need not be. The impetus to fol low one’s heart’s desire easily follows its discovery. Once the flame is ignited, it feeds upon its own joy of living in harmony with a purpose that is true. People who live this way tend to be receptive to insight, symbol ism and meanings hidden by linear thinking. They will often see things as if from above, in its entirety and complete, in many cases before they have begun. They have tapped into their intuition and follow its guidance, guidance that keeps them on track with their true-life pur pose. And in this way they have allowed joy into their lives in a moment by moment experience. A recent surge of interest in otherworld phenomena has opened the minds of millions to the real possibility o f higher, albeit unseen guidance. This has caused a steady increase in everyday visionaries who can be identified by these distinctive ways of thinking. Their thinking also involves a focus on what is desired rather than on how to acquire it. When thinking about how to manifest a certain goal, there is a natural tendency for past failures and mistakes to float to the surface of the consciousness, challenging the will to achieve. But when guided by passion, the content of what a person wants to change attracts people, circum stances and conditions, which are conducive to the successful frui tion of that manifestation. This is why it is so important to choose our thoughts carefully. In addition, they are inclined to respond swiftly to inspirations re ceived rather than behave impul sively swaying with the winds of emotion. By following our passion, unat tached to the binding controls of outside circumstances, whether viewed as positive or negative, we will auto matically begin making a decided and positive difference in the world we perceive. And following the flow of our heart’s in nermost desire carries with it a harmony and joy that needs no time or space requirement to experience. papa ftyurphtft I ARI.
