The production opened December 4 and plays through January 2,1999 in the Newmark (formerly Inter­ mediate) Theatre o f the Portland Center for the performing Arts. The play is adapted and staged by Elizabeth Huddle, PCS Artis­ tic Director. It features scenery by Scott Weldin, costumes by Jeanne Arnold and lighting by Rick Paulsen. For this song-filled Carol, composer Karl Mansfield has written several new pieces o f music as well as including tradi­ tional favorites and Victorian car­ ols. Terry Sneed, last seen in Port­ land Center Stage's raucous tour- de-force A Tuna Christmas, plays Ebenezer Scrooge. The cast fea­ tures many Portland favorites, including Susannah Mars as the ghost o f Christm as past, Ted Roisum as the Ghost o f Christ­ mas present and David Meyers as Jacob Marley. Other cast members are Victor Morris as the Narrator, Robert M cGranahan as Bob C ratchit, Dance, sure for themselves and others.
