MTV: M usic Television announced that M T V ’s “ House ot Style and
IM G M odels will hold a regional "M odel M ission" com petition at the
Pioneer Place Shopping C enter in Portland, Or. “ Model M ission" is a
national model search being held in 4 cities around the country.
On A ugust 22, “ H ouse o f S tyle’s” Rebecca Rom ijn will host a “ Model
M ission" sem i-final event from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm where the first 1,000
eligible young w om en will com pete for a chance to travel to appear on
M T V ’s “ Fashionably Loud” and w in a $250,000 m odeling contract from
IM G M odels. IM G m odel A lek W ek, “H ouse o f S ty le's” Model o f the
Y ear for 1997, w ill co-host the event in Portland. After narrow ing the
field to 5 sem i-finalists, R ebecca w ill host a finalist com petition at 5.30
pm, w here the young w om en will participate in 3 stunts to determ ine the
winner. Each o f the sem i-finalist events will broadcast as halt-hour
specials on M TV and lead up to the D ecem ber 5th broadcast o f “Fashion­
ably Loud,” w here the IM G m odeling contract will be awarded.
