Oregon Safe Kids Day
Metro Washington Park Zoo
10 am to 4pm
In conjuction with National Sate Kids Week, Or­
egon Safe Kids Day will feature exhibits, safety
tips and hands on activities for children and par­
ents. hundreds of agencies and groups that focus
on childhood injuries, prevention and related ac­
tivities and group together in communities around
the nation to teach, show, tell and remind the
general public how easy it is to help prevent these
unnecessary accidents.

National Pet Week ZooDay
Metro Washington Park Zoo, 10am to 4pm
Veterinarians and other professionals will be on
hand to answer your pet care questions. Get
some tips on how to choose the right pet tor your
household and find out why some animals make
good pets and others don’t. For kids there’ll be
a Teddy Bear Clinic where doctors will treat sick
or injured teddy bears, a coloring contest, face
painting and petting zoo. Sponsored by Barnum’s
Animal Crackers, Thriftway, New Country JJ

The Zoo’s For You Day
A free day for disabled persons. Animal talks,
music, and snacks. The train will not be operating
in 1998 due to construction. Hosted by A1 Kader
Shriners, West Linn Lions Club and Providence
Home Services.

Fox 49/Norm’s Safari Adventure
Join Norm on a “wild safari” tour of endangered
animals at the zoo. A passport will lead kids on a
safari to different activities around the zoo; kids
can have their picture taken with Norm. Games,
crafts, keeper talks, reptile roundup and puppet
shows. KPDX Fox 49, Borden, Wendy’s and
Thriftway.
