Paris was lured to head one o f them.

"E m m anuel died ol a broken heart," he
said. "H e co u ld n ’ t understand w hy such a
valuable program w ould be denied the fu n d
ing and the p o litica l support it needed... We
can give him an award, w hich m ight be re
membered for a day, or we can honor Ins
work, and his w ork was the N eighborhood
M ediation Program ."
Paris is survived by his w ife , Kathleen
B ell and six children. Remembrances may
be made to the Emmanuel Paris M em orial
