The “First Family of Gospel” - Pops Staples with daughters Mavis, Yvonne and Cleo, scored top 40 hits in the 60s and 70s with such songs as “I’ll take you there" and “Respect Yourself.” The 1994 Grammy-win­ ning '"Father-Father” at­ tests to the Staples con­ tinued quest to create music true to their per­ sonal convictions: Mes­ sages of hope, faith and brotherhood.
