ence on Trade and Development
attributes the rise o f TNCs to the
ongoing liberalization o f invest­
ment and trade and the increasing
privatization o f state-run corpora­
tions in Africa.

Women in t rades awarded its first
annual prize to the Metro Electrical
Apprenticeship Training Program at
a recruitment fair held this month at
Portland Community College’s Cas­
cade Campus in Portland. The award
underscores the union electrical con­
struction industry’s belief in the value
and b e n e fits o f a d iv e rs ifie d
workforce that includes women and
minorities.
The Metro Electrical Apprentice
Training Program provides training
and skills for union electrical appren­
tices and ongoing education for jour­
neymen.
